to its neighbor city,Bandung,Subang is a small city.The city that located in
west java is well known for its hot spring,Sari Ater.Many tourists whether from
within nation or outside nation visit Ciater everyday.But,that is not the only
tourist destination our beloved little city has,as there are many little-known
tourist destination that is as good as Sari Ater.They are little-known due to
lacks of information regarding them,and thus only few people visit them.And
there is one tourist detination that deserve more attention.Cisalada
Waterfall.In the following section we’re gonna break it down to spark your

What
is Cisalada Waterfall?
Cisalada
Waterfall,or curug Cisalada in sundanese,is a small waterfall located in Nagrak
Village,Ciater Subang.Approximately reaching 5 meters tall and one meter
deep,this waterfall is a perfect place to kickback and enjoy the surrounding
while soaking yourself in the water.
The word Cisalada was derived from two
sundanese words,Ci which means water and Salada which means lettuce.Apparently,local
people there used the water from cisalada waterfall to water their farm,and at
the time their local plant was dominated with lettuce.And thus,the name
Cisalada was born.
How to get there?
How to get there?
To
get to Nagrak Village,which is where Cisalada Waterfall located in,you can use
either motorcycle or car.The road to get there is good,so don't worry about
bumpy road.In order to reach Nagrak Village,firstly you have to go to Sari Ater
first.After you get to the entrance,take the right way which will lead to
Nagrak Village.Just follow the road until you find a sign that said "Curug Cisalada".The distance is about 4km from Sari Ater,so it's not too far.The
short distance between these two tourist destinations is great if you are
planning to go to Cisalada Waterfall after visiting Sari Ater or vice versa.

The Facilities
Cisalada Waterfall is a bit unique,since the Waterfall is located behind a private villa.In other word,Cisalada Waterfall is private property.So in order to go to the waterfall you need to talk to the owner of the villa first.What really surprising is the entrance fee.It's super cheap! It only cost Rp.5000/person or roughly around 350 cents! Sounds like a great deal right?
And then there's the parking lot.Although a bit small,it can fits 10-15 motorcycles and maybe a couple of cars.The parking fee is also really cheap,cost the same as the entrance fee!
But if you rent the villa,you won't be charged of entrance and parking fee! It cost Rp 200.000 or around 14 USD per night,but it can be more than that on holiday.
Beside the villa,Cisalada Waterfall also has a little park and camping ground.But first we're gonna talk about the park first.
This nice,clean small park is a perfect place to have a picnic with your companion,where you can sit around and enjoy the nature surrounding,with cool breeze and the relaxing sound of the waterfall.It's a good place to relieve your stress and appreciate the nature.There's also a couple of swings if you bring children,so they won't get bored.
For those who want to stay outdoor for a night and sleep under the stary sky,rest assured.This place provide camping ground located on the lower ground of the villa.To get there,you have to go down a path that will lead you to it.The path is a bit narrow,so be careful!
The camping ground is near to the waterfall, so you can feel the breeze of the waterfall while lying around in your tent!
The camping ground is not too vast, but it can fit maybe 10-15 tents.Also,since the camping ground is on the lower ground, we can see the villa up above.
And the moment you've been waiting for, the waterfall itself!
The waterfall might be small, but it's a nice place to kickback and forget about your problems for a while. You can soak your body or swim, it's up to you. There's a small old bridge that lead to the waterfall. It's also a nice place to take a selfie there. But don't play with the water too long or you will catch a cold! The air is chilly since it's located uphill so better watch out not to catch a cold. Also the stones are slippery, so watch your step!
Of all the pros I mentioned,there are also some cons. The facilities there are pretty lacking, and there's no gift shop there. But apart from those, it's a good tourist destination!
So if you want a quiet place and pleasant nature view for your vacation,this is the place! Give it a try, you won't regret it!
